*Khouri and Bishop Naoum Stress the Church’s Vital Role in Addressing Challenges and Strengthening Resilience*

Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, met with Bishop Hosam Naoum, Archbishop of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem, at the office of the Palestine National Fund in Amman. The meeting focused on the latest political and humanitarian developments in Palestine and the region, as well as the ongoing challenges facing the Palestinian people.

The meeting addressed the impact of the current circumstances on the Palestinian people and the national fabric, as well as the challenges facing the historic Christian presence in Palestine. The two sides underscored the importance of continued efforts to safeguard this presence and strengthen its role as an integral part of Palestinian national identity.

They also discussed the role of the Church at this critical juncture and its responsibility to promote resilience, solidarity, and national partnership, while continuing to fulfill its spiritual, national, and humanitarian mission in serving the Palestinian people.

Dr. Khouri and Bishop Naoum emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination, joint action, and the integration of efforts to better serve the Palestinian people, preserve the Christian presence in Palestine, and further strengthen national partnership.

The meeting forms part of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs’ ongoing engagement with heads of churches and their representatives, and its efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination on shared national and church-related issues of common concern.
