His excellency the minister Dr. Ramzi Khoury, Director General of the Palestinian National Fund and President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs welcomed in his office in Amman, Jordan, Fr. Ibrahim Shomali, Chancelor of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and Mr. Sami El-Yousef CEO of the Latin Patriarchate.
During the meeting Dr. Khoury stressed the importance to continue the work to stabilize the Christian presence in Palestine, especially in the occupied capital, where citizens are subject to great pressure from the occupying authorities to displace and deport them from the holy Land and pointed out the importance of working on the completion of more projects and housing to enhance the Christian presence in Jerusalem, especially for the young Jerusalemites.
The meeting dealt with the dangers facing the holy city, the continuous violations against the Islamic and Christian holy sites, and the almost daily attacks by the Israeli settlers.
Dr.Khoury received the message of His Excellency the Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to President Mahmoud Abbas.
