The Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine announced today, that upon the request of many, it came to a decision with the concerned churches in the Church of the Nativity, to extend the opening hours for visitors and pilgrims from 5 am to 8 pm.
These efforts came within the endeavours of His Excellency Dr. Ramzi Khoury , President of the Committee, to promote the city of Bethlehem in the period of Christmas, where he informed the Major General Kamel Hamid, Governor of Bethlehem of this decision to coordinate with the security services to make the necessary arrangements .
Dr. Khoury explained that this decision came to serve the needs of the pilgrims and visitors coming from around the world to participate in the Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem.
The Committee appreciated the cooperation of all churches responsible for the Church of the Nativity and the official institutions that help in preserving the Church of the Nativity and its status as the heart of Christmas in the heart of Palestine.
