The Commitee of Churches Affairs meets with Munir Kakish, president of the Council of Local Evangelical Churches in the Holy Land.

Dr. Ramzi Khoury, Director General of the National Fund, and President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs met in his office in Amman, Jordan with Pastor Munir kakish , President  of the Local Evangelical Churches in the Holy Land in the presence of Mrs. Shirin Kakish and Major General Emad Maayah, President of Jordan Evangelical Council along with pastor David Rihani, the vice president of the council.

On behalf of the Evangelical Congregation Mr.Kakish extended his sincere gratitude to President Mahmoud Abbas and Dr. Ramzi Khoury for the efforts made to issue a presidential decree on regulating the relationship with the unrecognized evangelical churches.

During the meeting, he discussed their participation at the WEA General Assembly, which brought together evangelicals from over 90 countries in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, where the Council President Munir Kakish announced the legal recognition granted to his organization by the PA.

The decree of 3.11.2019 grants the evangelical group civil rights as a religious organization and the only valid reference for the unrecognized evangelical churches operating in the State of Palestine. As a result of the official recognition, the Council can grant marriage licenses, open bank accounts, and legally purchase land registered in their name after being approved and ratified by the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs, in accordance with the laws in force.
