This morning His Excellency Minister Dr. Ramzi Khoury, President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine and Director General of the Palestinian National Fund, met with His Excellency Major General Kamel Hamid, Governor of Bethlehem.
In continuation of previous meetings, they discussed on the preparations and arrangements needed for the Christmas celebrations, to ensure the comfort of pilgrims, tourists and all participants in the Christmas celebrations and their safe arrival to the Church of the Nativity.
Governor Hamid praised the role of the committee in becoming the official face of the churches in Palestine, and its continuous work to resolve many issues, in particular the committee’s efforts to extend the opening hours of the Nativity Church, which elevates tourism and supports the city’s economy and in addition facilitates the entry of tourists and reduces the crisis of pilgrims within the church.
Dr. Khoury thanked the Governor, Major General Kamel Hamid for all his efforts on coordinating with the official institutions and security services to organize all the preparations needed for the Christmas season and the extension of the opening hours of the Nativity Church.
