Under the patronage of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas , The Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs delivered nearly 1500 food parcels to Christian families in need for the Christmas season.
The Committee visited several governorates, where there is a larger Christian presence, in particularJerusalem and Bethlehem, whose economic conditions worsened in light of the Corona pandemic due to its dependence on tourism, in addition to the Gaza Strip, which is suffering an economic collapse.
It is worth noting that the committee gave priority to a number of humanitarian projects on the occasion of Christmas, to elevate the spirit of Christmas and bring joy to the families and children, by contributions to decorate Christmas trees in towns and villages in the governorates of Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, and by contributing to churches and its different institutions such as social centers, scout groups and others, in order to support and strengthen the steadfastness of the deeply rooted Christian presence in Palestine.
The committee expresses its gratitude for the support of many of its partners such as the Palestinian National Security Service, which donated a number of parcels and helped in transferring them to the governorates, The Palestinian Bible Society and the Mahmoud Abbas Foundation, that helped keep the Christmas season joyful for many families.
