The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, congratulated His Holiness Pope Francis on the occasion of the Holy Easter.
In a telegram addressed to His Holiness, “We extend our warmest heartfelt congratulations forEaster, this blessed and Holy occasion celebrated by our Palestinian people and all pilgrims and visitors, that pass the route of ViaDolorosa leading to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which is embraced by our dear Jerusalem, which we hope will enjoy peace and the end of the occupation.
We pray for peace, security and love to prevail among the people of the world, hoping by next year we will have triumphed over the Covid-19 pandemic, with all the pain and sorrow that itbrought. With the loss of millions of people and the economic losses of the world, we pray that life returns to normal, and churches, mosques and all places of worship will be filled with worshipers again celebrating the victory of hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance, and life over death.”
