The Higher Presidential Committee salutes the resilience of Jerusalemites in the face of the terror of the occupation and settlers.

The Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine saluted the resilience of our people in the city of Jerusalem and the unity of Christians and Muslims in confronting the daily attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities and extremist religious settler groups, which doubled with the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
And in a statement issued by Dr. Ramzi Khoury, the committee’s head and the General Director of the Palestinian National Fund, today, Friday, that protecting our people in the city of Jerusalem and defending and protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque and other Islamic and Christian holy sites has become more urgent than ever, considering the severe danger and attacks that the Holy City is subjected to, such as forced displacement, arrest of citizens, and the violation of the sanctity of private homes and assaulting it’s innocent inhabitants as happened yesterday in more than one location in the city of Jerusalem.
As the committee also condemned the organized attacks of the settlers and the occupation soldiers against Jerusalemites, which hit about 130 of them, stressing that the goal of all these actions is to complete the Judaization of the Holy City and harm its Islamic and Christian sanctities, calling on the Arab and Islamic nations to really commit financially and politically into support strengthening the steadfastness of Jerusalemites.
On the other hand, the Committee appealed the international institutions and churches of the world to reject the daily provocation, aggression and criminality practiced by the occupying power and the extremist groups against the Jerusalemites, and to terrorize them in their homes, neighbourhoods, and places of worship and to raid them, in flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions that guarantee freedom of worship, and to take the necessary effective measures to stop this Assaults.
In the end, the committee affirms that the city of Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian land Under the international law and United Nations, and it is the capital of the independent Palestinian state, and that the duty of the UN Security Council oblige the Israeli occupation authorities in full compliance with its obligations imposed under those laws and resolutions.
