The Anglican Episcopal Church concluded its general synod, with the participation of Archbishop Hussam Naoum, alongside numerous bishops, archbishops, and clergy.
In his address, Bishop Naoum emphasized the imperative of persisting in efforts to achieve peace, halt atrocities, and ensure the safety of civilians. He called for an end to all forms of violence affecting children, women, and the elderly.
He urged leaders of the Episcopal Church to pray for enduring and comprehensive peace between Palestinians and Israelis. He emphasized the need for efforts to ensure security and stability. He stressed the necessity of making every endeavor to establish security and sability, affirming the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury addressed the situation in the Holy Land, and the ongoing war in Gaza. In his speech, he drew attention to the catastrophic and distressing conditions, as well as the destructive violence in the Holy Land that has claimed thousands of life. Archbishop Welby called for immediate action to reach a ceasefire and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
