Dr. Khouri briefs the Greek Consul General on the latest developments and violations against Muslim and Christian Holy Sites

Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Churches in Palestine, Dr. Ramzi Khouri met with the Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitrios Angelosopoulos in Bethlehem.

Dr. Khouri called on Greece to pressure Israel to ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as well as to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid, including food, fuel, and crucial medical supplies needed for hospital operations.

During the meeting, Khoury briefed the Consul General on the latest developments and egregious violations endured by Muslim and Christian Holy Sites at the hands of the Israeli occupation.

He highlighted the ongoing attacks by extremist settlers on priests and religious figures, desecration of Holy Sites, and attempts to control properties belonging to churches and people, particularly in occupied Jerusalem. He also underscored the escalating and increasingly dire situation in the West Bank.
Dr. Khouri also provided a detailed overview of the work of the Presidential Committee and its pivotal role in fortifying the Christian presence in Palestine.

Both Dr. Khouri and Consul General Angelosopoulos agreed to maintain communication and sustain collaborative efforts to enhance the work of churches and their affiliated institutions.

Member of the Higher Presidential Committee for Churches Affairs in Palestine, Kholoud Daibes and the Committee’s Director of Public Relations and Media, Mr. Raed Hanania attended the meeting.
