Dr.Khoury Welcomes Representatives of Armenian Institutions and Organizations in Jerusalem

Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Churches Affaires in Palestine, Dr. Ramzi Khouri, received representatives of the Armenian institutions and organizations in Jerusalem at his office in Bethlehem.

The organizations present were the Armenian Relief Society, Hoyetchmen Club, Homenetmen Club, the Armenian Charity Association, Tashnag party, Ramgavar party and Save the ArQ.

Discussions during the meeting focused on exploring ways of collaborative efforts to enhance the roles of these institutions and organizations, emphasizing their societal impact. The conversation delved into challenges faced by the Armenian community in Jerusalem, including the practices of the Israeli occupation authorities against the residents of Jerusalem, as well as the systematic and targeted attacks on Armenian properties, with the intention of Judaization.

Dr. Khouri conveyed warm congratulations and greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas to the Armenian community, praising their steadfast position in resisting the systematic attacks and practices of the Israeli occupation authorities. These policies are designed to undermine the national unity of the Palestinian people with diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Khouri expressed the Committee’s unwavering commitment in supporting the Armenian community in Jerusalem, strengthening their determination to protect their property, existence and the fulfillment of their national mission in safeguarding their heritage.

Also present at the meeting were Committee members Dr. Varsen Aghabekian and Mr. Jihad Khair, along with Mr. Raed Hanania, director of public relations and media.
