The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine participated in the opening of the Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) summit “And Still We Rise”, which began today in Jericho.
On behalf of Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, Dr. Khouloud Daibes, member of the committee, delivered the keynote address.
The three-day summit aims to bolster support for the Palestinian people while spotlighting the critical role of Palestinian women in peacebuilding. The opening session featured insightful discussions on collective liberation, trauma recovery, and promoting justice and equality through women’s empowerment.
In her remarks, Dr. Daibes stressed the critical role of church solidarity in advocating for Palestinian rights. She highlighted the indispensable role of Palestinian women in the national struggle and efforts toward peacebuilding. Dr. Daibes further underscored that this summit represents a meaningful milestone in fostering regional and international cooperation to champion the Palestinian cause and advance justice.
