Dr. Ramzi Khouri, member of the PLO Executive Committee and head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, took part in the official reception of the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Francesco Patton. The event marked the beginning of the Christmas season according to the Western calendar and the Feast of Saint Catherine.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Bethlehem, Mohammed Taha Abu Alia, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Hani Al-Hayek, the Deputy Mayor of Bethlehem, Hanna Hanania, as well as representatives from security agencies, Christian organizations, community leaders, and clergy. Following the reception, a celebratory Mass was held at the Church of Saint Catherine.

In his remarks, Dr. Khouri emphasized: “Our mission is clear: to strive for justice for our people, enabling them to determine their destiny and establish an independent state. At this critical juncture, our foremost priority is reaching an immediate ceasefire to protect the lives of our people in Gaza. This year, our Christmas spirit is reflected in the prayers and humanitarian messages delivered by the children of Bethlehem today, standing with the children of Gaza. Their message to global leaders is unequivocal: bring peace and justice to our people.”

A Message from Bethlehem’s Children to Gaza’s Children
