Dr. Ramzi Khouri, member of the PLO Executive Committee and head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, conducted a visit to review the progress of the restoration project of the historic Debai House, which is being restored for the benefit of the Greek Orthodox Transfiguration Church in Ramallah.
As part of the visit, Dr. Khouri and his accompanying delegation attended the Holy Mass. Following the service, they delegation met with Father Elias Awad, head of the Church, members of the Church’s Council, and a group of parishioners.
Dr. Khouri extended his warm wishes for the upcoming Christmas celebrations, expressing his heartfelt hope for an end to the ongoing massacres perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in Gaza. He also called for the termination of the occupation and expressed his aspiration for the coming year to usher in a just peace, enabling the Palestinian people to celebrate their national and religious holidays in an atmosphere of joy, security, and tranquility.
Furthermore, he urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by enforcing international resolutions and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
