The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs Takes Part in the Reception of Estonian President Alar Karis at the Church of the Nativity

On behalf of Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, committee members participated in the official reception of Estonian President Alar Karis during visit to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

During the visit, committee representatives briefed President Karis on the challenges faced by the Palestinian people under occupation, highlighting the severe restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation authorities. They also presented him with an official letter containing a detailed report on Israeli violations against Palestinian Christians, particularly in Gaza, and the impact of Israeli policies on the increasing emigration of Christians from Palestine.

The visit underscores the strong ties between Estonia and Palestine and reinforces the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage while advocating for the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

President Karis was received by committee members Dr. Khouloud Daibes and Jihad Khair, alongside Bethlehem Governor Mohammad Taha, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Hani Al-Hayek, Bethlehem Mayor Anton Salman, Metropolitan Benedictos, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchal Representative in Bethlehem, Father Enrique, representing the Custody of the Holy Land, Bethlehem Presidential Office Director Rana Milhem, and Director of Public Relations and Media at the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs Raed Hanania, as well as several clergy members and security officials.
