Dr. Ramzi Khoury, a member of the Executive Committee of the PLO and the Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, sent a telegram to His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pope of the Vatican, expressing his heartfelt wishes for a swift and full recovery.
He beseeched God Almighty to grant His Holiness health and well-being and to restore him safely so that he can continue his noble mission of spreading love, peace, and justice among nations.
In his message, Dr. Khoury emphasized that Pope Francis, with his profound moral voice and global spiritual stature, stands as the living conscience of humanity, advocating for the oppressed and defending the rights of the vulnerable. He praised the Pope’s humanitarian role in championing peace and justice, values that resonate deeply in the hearts of millions worldwide. He also commended His Holiness’s courageous stance in defending the truth and his steadfast commitment to the highest humanitarian values.
Dr. Khoury expressed his deep appreciation for Pope Francis’s continuous efforts in closely monitoring the situation of those detained in the church in Gaza and his unwavering concern for their well-being. He also acknowledged the Pope’s clear and resolute calls to end the aggression against Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the innocent. He affirmed that Pope Francis’s voice remains a beacon of peace and justice in a world fraught with conflicts and that his humanitarian principles continue to inspire the world.
