In an interview with the Jesuit magazine ‘America’, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, reaffirmed the Holy See’s commitment to a two-state solution. He emphasized that Gaza is the rightful home of Palestinians who wish to remain on their land, stating, “Gaza remains the home of Palestinians who were born and have lived there for generations and who want to stay and rebuild their lives. We cannot go against that.”
He further noted, “many of today’s Palestinians or their closest ancestors were already forced to leave their properties from other parts of the Holy Land,” stressing that the people of Gaza should not be seen as a problem.
