Khoury Visits Wounded and Child Patients from Gaza at Rome’s Umberto I Hospital, Conveys Greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas

Dr. Ramzi Khouri, member of the PLO Executive Committee and head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, visited Policlinico Umberto I Hospital in Rome to check on the wounded and child patients from the Gaza Strip who are receiving treatment following the ongoing Israeli assault on the enclave.

During the visit, Dr. Khouri conveyed warm greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas to the wounded and hospital staff. He reaffirmed the President’s unwavering support during this difficult time and underscored the Palestinian leadership’s commitment to monitoring their medical and humanitarian needs and ensuring every possible form of assistance is provided.

Dr. Khouri was accompanied by H.E. Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates; Dr. Abeer Odeh, Ambassador of Palestine to Italy; and Ambassador Issa Kassissieh, Palestine’s envoy to the Holy See.

The delegation held discussions with the hospital’s administration to explore avenues for medical cooperation and to follow up on the conditions of the Palestinian patients. Both sides emphasized the critical importance of sustaining medical and humanitarian support, especially for injured children.

The delegation also met with the wounded, listening to their stories and needs. They expressed deep appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the hospital and called for continued international solidarity and support for the Palestinian people during this humanitarian crisis.
