The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs Condemns the Heinous Israeli Settlers’ Crime of Burning a Mosque Near Salfit

The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine strongly condemns, in the firmest terms, the heinous crime committed by Israeli settlers at dawn today (Thursday), who set fire to the Hajja Hamida Mosque, located between the towns of Deir Istiya and Kifl Haris, northwest of Salfit, and defaced its walls with racist and hate-filled slogans.

The Committee affirms that this vile attack on a house of worship is a blatant violation of the sacred right to freedom of religion and a dangerous act of incitement to religious hatred. The Committee further warns that the continued silence of the international community in the face of such crimes only emboldens settlers to repeat these acts and expand their assaults against both Muslim and Christian holy sites across Palestine.

The Committee renews its urgent call for immediate international protection for all places of worship and for an end to the ongoing policy of impunity that enables settlers to carry out their crimes against the Palestinian people and their sanctities without accountability.
