Khouri Congratulates Rev. Botrus Mansour on His Appointment as Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance

Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, extended his warm congratulations to Rev. Botrus Mansour on the occasion of his appointment as Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance. The congratulatory meeting was held at Bethlehem Bible College.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Evangelical churches, headed by the President of Bethlehem Bible College, Rev. Dr. Jack Sara, alongside Rev. Nihad Salman and Rev. Khader Khoury. Also, in attendance were Dr. Samir Hizboun, Member of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs, and Raed Hanania, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Committee.

Discussions focused on the mission and international ecclesiastical and humanitarian role of the World Evangelical Alliance, as well as the national and church-related responsibilities of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine. Participants highlighted the Committee’s continued efforts to safeguard the authentic Christian presence in Palestine, strengthen unity among churches, and amplify the voice of Palestinian churches in international forums.

Dr. Khouri emphasized the importance of synergy between local and international church engagement in advancing the values of justice and peace. He praised Rev. Mansour’s leadership, competence, and commitment, wishing him success in his new responsibilities in service of the church’s mission and the principles of human dignity and rights.

For his part, Rev. Botrus Mansour expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him and the responsibilities entrusted to him. He commended the role of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, under the leadership of Dr. Ramzi Khouri, in supporting Palestinian churches and strengthening their presence on the global ecclesiastical stage. Rev. Mansour reaffirmed his commitment to conveying the voice and just concerns of Palestinian churches to the international community, while promoting the values of partnership, justice, and peace rooted in the church’s humanitarian and moral mission.
