The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine took part in the installation and consecration service of Rev. Dr. Imad Mousa Haddad as Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, in a solemn ceremony held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem. The service was organized by the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and was attended by a wide gathering of church leaders and official representatives.
The committee was represented by Dr. Khouloud Daibes, on behalf of PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs, Dr. Ramzi Khouri. The strong turnout reflected the significance of this milestone in the life of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and its continued spiritual, social, and national role in the Holy Land.
During the ceremony, Dr. Daibes conveyed Dr. Khouri’s warm greetings and reaffirmed the committee’s steadfast commitment to supporting the churches and standing alongside them as they carry out their spiritual and national mission in Palestine amid ongoing challenges.
Earlier, Dr. Daibes also represented the committee at a special reception held in honor of Bishop Dr. Sani Ibrahim Azar, in recognition of his years of dedicated service as Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land. The event was held at Talitha Kumi Lutheran School in Beit Jala.
The tribute ceremony was attended by a broad gathering of church, official, and academic figures, who praised Bishop Azar’s inspiring spiritual and humanitarian leadership, as well as his lasting contributions to strengthening the Church’s mission, supporting its educational and social institutions, and promoting the values of justice and peace.
