Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, met with Sami El-Yousef, Chief Executive Officer of the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem, alongside a delegation from the Patriarchate, to discuss several matters related to church endowment properties, the situation of the Church in Palestine, and mechanisms for strengthening cooperation and joint coordination during the coming period.
The meeting addressed recent settler attacks targeting lands belonging to the Latin Patriarchate in the areas of Tayasir and Hammam al-Maleh in Tubas, in addition to the legal measures and efforts undertaken by the Patriarchate’s Endowments Department to confront these violations and safeguard church properties.
Discussions also emphasized the importance of supporting the steadfastness of Palestinian residents in the area and preserving the Palestinian presence on the land.
The Patriarchate delegation included Endowments Officer Issa Tawil and member of the Patriarchate Advisory Council Walid Nammour. Also attending the meeting alongside Dr. Khouri were Committee member Mousa Hadid, Committee member and representative in Europe Amira Hanania, Acting Director General of the Committee Hadeel Mashreqi, Director of Public Relations and Media Raed Hanania, and member of the Finance and Projects Committee Ahmad Hafnawi.
