Dr. Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, visited the Municipality of Beit Jala, where he congratulated the newly elected Mayor, Vladimir Kharoufeh, and members of the new Municipal Council, wishing them every success in serving the city and its residents.
During the visit, an expanded meeting was held with the participation of the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council, as well as representatives of various associations and institutions in Beit Jala. Discussions focused on a number of issues concerning the city and ways to strengthen cooperation and integration among its national, civic, and community institutions.
Dr. Khouri highlighted Beit Jala’s distinguished national, historical, and cultural significance, stressing the importance of preserving its rich heritage and identity while reinforcing its role as one of Palestine’s historic cities. He also emphasized the need to continue working collectively to serve the city’s residents and support its continued development.
For his part, Mayor Vladimir Kharoufeh expressed his appreciation for Dr. Khouri’s visit and congratulations, affirming the new Municipal Council’s commitment to working in a spirit of responsibility and partnership with the city’s institutions and associations to advance Beit Jala’s development and improve the services provided to its residents.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Khuloud Daibes and Jihad Khair, members of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, as well as Raed Hanania, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Committee.
