His Excellency Minister Dr. Ramzi Khoury, President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs, congratulates His Eminence Bishop Mar Yacoub Ephrem Semaanon the occasion of his ordination as the Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Catholic of Jerusalem, Holy Land and Jordan.
Dr.Khoury in a statement “We are confident in your ability and wisdom to lead the church and bear this great responsibility, and we will always be by your side.
The Syriac Catholic Church is an integral part of the Palestinian social fabric and its presence must be consolidated especially in the Holy City.”
The mass was presided by His Beatitude Ignatius Ephrem Joseph III Younan, the SyriacCatholic Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Syriacs who came from Lebanon on an official visit during which he will meet with His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Minister Fadi Al-Hadmi, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, representing President Mahmoud Abbas, and His Excellency Ambassador IssaKassisieh, Palestine’s ambassador to the Vatican City, on behalf of His Excellency Minister Dr. Ramzi Khoury, President of the Committee.
