The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine asserts that the resilience and determination of the Armenian community in Palestine will thwart all attempts by Israeli extremist and racist settlers to control the Armenian quarter in occupied Jerusalem.

The Committee emphasizes that the continuous assault on the Armenian community in Jerusalem, along with extremist settler attempts to displace its residents and seize control over their neighborhood, will not break their determination. The community remains committed to defending its deeply rooted existence and connection to Jerusalem.

Dr. Ramzi Khouri, a member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, expressed concern over a distressing incident in the Cows’ Garden. Here, extreme settlers and their proxies attacked Armenian protesters and monks in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Khouri highlighted that these actions are part of a systematic plan by the Israeli government to empty Jerusalem of its Palestinian residents. He underscored that settlers serve as tools of the Israeli occupation in these systematic efforts, receiving protection as they assault Palestinian cities and villages.

Khouri called upon the international community and human rights organizations to decisively intervene and halt all forms of forced displacements of Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, Gaza, and across Palestinian territories.
