The Christmas parade will launch from Bethlehem on the 19th of December.

His Excellency The Minister Ramzi Khoury, President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs and the Director General of the Palestinian National Fund, announced at the press conference in Ramallah that the Christmas parade of 2019 will launch on the 19th of December from Bethlehem and will pass through the governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh on 21/12, the town of Zababdeh in the governorate of Jenin on 23/12 and Jericho on the 26th of December.

He indicated that the presidential committee worked in cooperation with various authorities, especially the governorates, municipalities and security services, to restore the Christmas parade after a halt of three years, to emphasize the religious and national message that Christmas delivers to the world showing them our love for peace and life and our adherence to our land and holy sites.

On the work of the committee, he said: “The aim of the committee is to defend our Islamic and Christian sanctities, facing the American-backed Israeli attacks by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and transferring the American embassy to it, attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, considering settlements as part of Israel, attacking Al-Aqsa Mosque and the churches, attempts to eliminate the patriarchs In Jerusalem and the  house demolitions and detentions, which are  all in violation of international law. He added that the committee follows up on the churches affairs with its institutions and organizations, pointing out the recent renovations of both the church of Moses the Abyssinian built in the 4th century and the church of Burqin, also the establishment of social centres and renovations in different governorates of Palestine. In addition to creating job opportunities, providing housing for young couples and supporting social activities, as well as conveying the real image of Palestine to the world through its delegations. Stressing that the committee is working under the guidance of President Mahmoud Abbas to preserve the Christian presence, especially in the midst of Israeli attacks on holy sites and Israel’s Jewish Nation-State law which hopes to eliminate the Christian and Islamic existence.

Furthermore , the representative of Media Plus Juliana Hodali, said that the Christmas parade for 2019 embodies the story of birth and it will be presented in a new way, also what distinguishes it this year is that it was built in Chile by a Palestinian expatriate .

Moreover, the Palestinian Arab Idol winner Yacoub Shaheen announced the launch of a new song for chirstmas with a religious and national nature written by Nizar Francis, with the support of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs, in cooperation with “Media Plus”.  

Ambassador Amira Hanania , General Manager of the Committee, affirmed  that the committee will try to maintain the repetition of the parade every year as a ritual holiday, inviting expatriates and various citizens to participate and enjoy the Christmas parade in the four governorates.
