The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, headed by Dr. Ramzi Khouri—member of the PLO Executive Committee—participated in the annual “Children Without Borders for Unity and Peace” march in Bethlehem. The event was organized by the Children Without Borders Foundation under the leadership of Father Ibrahim Faltas.
The march was attended by Father Peter Vasko, the principal patron of the initiative, Bethlehem Governor Mohammad Taha Abu Alia, Mayor of Bethlehem Maher Qanawati, along with representatives of official institutions, security and police services, national bodies, and a large gathering of children and community organizations. The Committee was also represented by Jihad Khair, Director of its Bethlehem Office, and Raed Hanania, Director of Public Relations and Media.
In his address, Dr. Khouri stressed that the march conveys a powerful message of hope, love, and solidarity, particularly for the children of Gaza and the people of Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian hardship. He affirmed: “We stand with you. Darkness will pass, and the light of Christmas will come—bringing justice, peace, hope, and love.” He emphasized that children are the true embodiment of hope and called on the international community to uphold its responsibility to protect them and ensure dignified humanitarian conditions.
The march began at Catholic Action Square, proceeded through Star Street, and concluded at Manger Square, with hundreds of children carrying messages of peace and love addressed to the international community. The event reaffirmed the unity of Palestinian cities and their people, promoted the values of peace and justice, and revived the spiritual message of Christmas in Bethlehem, the City of Peace.
